OP, I threw for 8 yrs and made no progress on my distance.
It's all about form.
If you have good form, you will see great improvements and reach your distance goals.
I thought that the more I played, the better my form would be.
Wrong (for me).
Some people figure it out naturally.
Some people, like me, will figure it out, over time, in a practice field, with helpful advice from the kind folks in the Form Analysis/Critique thread. Also a lot of good info on the HeavyDisc blog.
If you want to get your distance, you may have to put in the time on a practice field to understand and correct your form.
For most people the only easy answer is to put in the work to get the results.
