Has the production mould been polished to remove the texture? Most other discs lack this. Maybe it's a design feature, maybe not. I'm not a fan...
I've been playing out in the wet snow with my pink Ace Racer and it doesn't seem any more slick than my other Champion/Z plastic.

I got a first run in my players pack, def alot flatter and stiffer feeling than the ace race. They actually feel pretty good!

The Zombee (Ace Race disc) replaced my Stalker. It was just easier to throw for me. I might check out the production Z-line and see how they compare.

Sometimes you just need a straight tweener. It barely gets any use, but I like knowing it's in the bag.

Aw, my favorite thing about the AR discs was the soft plastic. I wonder if the flat top will equate to a higher plh/more stable disc..

Fondled some Zombees, and they do feel stiffer than the AR version. I wonder about the flat top as well. The AR ones have great glide. Hope the new ones do as well.

Both my GL Saint and GL Flow are like this. Mostly I can hear it when I am petting them. My GL Fuse and GL River are smooth.

So from a design perspective, what is the point of this? I suppose that it has an impact on air passing over the disc, and from a physics standpoint, what does it do?

I've thrown the zombee and leopards a bunch and my experience is that they are pretty similar in flight and distance. It's not like a leopard is as fast as a TB or distinctly faster than a stalker. The stalker, zombee, and leopard even share a 1.6 rim width. The stalker doesn't go much more than 50'-ish past a buzzz yes, but a buzzz goes very far for a mid even on a low-ish line. Should a leopard be considered a 'tweener'? Obviously the point I'm trying to make here is just because the zombee and stalker are not as fast as a TB or PD doesn't mean they should not be considered a driver. After all you can drive far with them...

I think it comes from the way the mold is machined. I believe the molds are milled on a CNC machine out of aluminum. the lines would be left over from the cutting tool. poor quality control? Innova champion rhyno's come with varying degrees of this
