Like: Warship, Saint, Underworld, River, Innova 'birds, all animal names, most MVP and Westside names.

Don't like: Buzzz, most of Axiom, most of Dynamic except Escape and Truth, Pioneer, Explorer, letter/number combos.

Has some small influence on what I throw though.

I like the Wizard. I don't like prodigy's naming. I have a special place in my heart for the Thunderbird/Destroyer.

Prodigy's naming seems to make sense but the Major Flaw is you need to know how to read it first.

Prodigy's naming is fine, as is Discmania's... as long as you remember that Prodigy's "1" is overstable while Discmania's "1" tends to be understable.

"P" or "Pa" is putter, "M" is mid, "F" is fairway driver, etc. And it can't be harder to learn than "Sidewinder", "Eagle", "Force", and "Trespass"...

My problem is trying to remember Discmania's double names...

Or the Double names for one of the New Zealand Disc Golf Companies, they have a NZ name and a USA/North America/Europe name.

Hardest to learn is Innova now, they have so many discs and plastics probably the one fault is number of molds for Innova and subtle variant discs with different names and some of the ones they still make even as a limited run that need to be discontinued. All the different Aviar discs? might make a beginning player confused. Another hard to understand is the different plastic types for Gateway and for a beginner to find what he likes in some of the plastics for putters mainly.

I like names that fit what the disc does. A Roadrunner and a Sidewinder do what there names indicate: they turn toward their side and make good roller discs. Other examples of fitting names include: Destroyer, Pig, Wizard (you can do magic with this disc), Brick.

I don't like names that have letters and numbers. Both Prodigy's and Discmania's naming schemes are boring to me. Sure, they make sense and are descriptive once you figure them out, but I always have a hard time remembering which direction the stability goes and which letter/number combinations are good discs. These number/letter systems are also very confusing for newer players and have very little marketing appeal to casual players. If I knew nothing about disc golf and went to Dunham's or Dick's to buy a disc, I would pick an Eagle, Boss, Wraith, Force, Wasp, Photon, or anything else that sounded cool over a combination of letters that mean nothing to an inexperienced player.
