6 artists, 6 different takes on a Disc Golf themed skull and crossbones. That is what Disc Or Die is doing with their 2013 Featured Artist Series. Absolutely love the idea. Each design will be used for a different tournament and then all 6 will adorn a poster to be signed by all the artist.

The Skulboy entry is stamped on Legacy Icon Ghost. Disc Or Die will also have Cannons and Rampages I believe.

in the marketplace if anyone is interested.

I threw this together quickly. This is the idea, but I plan to re-work the knife a bit and give it some depth. I dont know if I am entirely in love with the font. Also, I did it in photoshop but Im going to try and redo it in illustrator because everyone gushes about it.

You'll wanna be conscious of the solid area -- the way foil stamping works, it needs airholes when it's stamped down. A large solid shape like the knife would inevitably have some bubbles that form during the press, they won't stick, and they'll easily tear leaving a hole. The typical guideline is to not have a solid shape more than 18pt.

The good news is that the knife would look awesome if you fleshed out some detail within the form.

Here's a first for this thread... a stamp DIE. This is the metal plate that contains the artwork. The die shown below is the 2012 DN Halloween stamp, which I can post a full image of soon, once we release it.

Since this is one of my scratchy stamps, you see a lot of fine line work represented in the die. See how the engraved edge doesn't go straight down, but at an angle? That's why, when the stamp is really dug in, it also stamps a thin halo around the artwork. That angle and the variable depth between "black" areas creates a sweet topography in the metal. The dies themselves often have a really cool look.

My keyboard is literally sitting on top of the list...
Once we get through with stamping and the info is 100%, I can list 'em out. There are 5 models + minis. There is a mystery variable that will be experimented with and decided tomorrow... something that would be highly relevant to a stamping thread

Okay so, um, count me in for one. Last year, I had to get lucky and find somebody close enough to grab the very last one from the store. I hope to avoid that this year
