Some runs plow through headwinds like a hot knife through butter, some runs get stood up a little bit. I'm not a OLF diehard so I can't tell you which runs do what but I bet ZJ1002 can.

1.3 SOLFs are plenty stable into a headwind. 1.2s are also beefy, but they have plus rims.
1.3 and 1.4 QOLFs too (1.4s, in particular, start quite OS). 1.2s are pretty OS to start too.

Basically, the 1.1 runs are the least overstable. Everything after that was much beefier.

Sooo anything but 1.1 can challenge a head Wind? Good to know.

I throw 1.1s for everything. It is VERY rare I put any other runs in my bag.

Firebirds for howling headwinds, but clean hyzer with a zippertop will usually do the trick.

Im pretty sure finding the zippertops is pretty hard these days. Am I correct in that assumption? I mean, to me it doesn't really mattee because I have an older run to start out woth and love it anyway.

My personal word of advice is don't bother. No need to get attached to something OOP you don't already know and love.

EDIT: misread what you said. If you love the 1.1 maybe track some down. But I try to avoid OOP atall costs (used to bag tons of them)

No you read it right. Ibguess I wrote it incorrectly. What I meant by older was later in production. I actually have a more recent run. 1.3 MOLF i want some Sirius to begin cycling.

1.3 Ms are perfect cycling OLFs. They start out pretty darned OS for an OLF. And they wear predictably. And they are all nice and flat and fast.

If I didn't have a few 1.1 backups (*cough*), I'd stick to 1.3 MOLFs, for sure.

No way I would start trying to track down zippertops now.

Here's the thing about older runs. All runs wind up having a fan club for the most part so if you find a mold you like, stock up on it. When the wind blows down the line and something else tickles your fancy, sell your stock of now old and popular backups, and start in on your next obsession. The problem with that is when you find an older, rarer, and usually more expensive run for cheap and fall in love, things can get pricey.

Ignorance really is bliss in this case.
