Default Gateway Apache

Anyone have any experience with this? DGC rates as a 9, 6, -1, 2 Didn't see it on Joe's chart. Seems like it should be very similar to a Viking...maybe a touch more stable and should glide forever.

I have some friends who throw them (after they bought them from me) and they seem to really like them.
They do seem to have excellent glide. Depending on your power level not sure how stable I would say they are. I normally throw 325 and I tried one at 174 and it was pretty stable for me.
My one friend can really bomb the disc. From watching his throws it would seem a touch faster than 9 (like 9.5 maybe).
Is it on Marshallstreets flight guide?
As an aside I have thrown a Gateway Assassin as well (speed 10 apparently) and that was a really nice straight flyer for me with decent distance. And that was with a disc that was heavier than I normally throw...a 172 (usuals are 167-9).

Thats what I think of whenever someone starts talking about the Apache.

BTW I loled at a pic that came up when searching for apache chief on google with safe filters off. Not appropriate to post.

It's my goto driver for sure... I would say it flies closer to a valkyrie in terms of stability (both LSS and HSS) but it has waaaay more glide. Its rim has these sort of micro grooves that kinda feels like old big screen tvs and it has a bead that helps keep it from flipping over. Very controllable driver works for straight shots and long turnovers, and in my experience can handle headwinds upto 15mph. My favorite part about it is that it comes in Evolution HPP... indestructible.

IMO, definitely the Apache is the best combination of control and distance.

if you can throw 375' it will be much flippier. i used mine to replace the sidewinder/roadrunner slot in my bag. mine is E not HPP which I hear is a bit more stable

I would say those DGC ratings are pretty good, the Apache I have is very domey so it should have a lot of glide. I did not have any success with it because of the rim, I just could never get a good grip on it because the part where your finger tips go was curved, don't ask me why, but I just couldn't throw it. My friend throws it with some success, very straight and floats forever for him.
