I wouldn't want to pay for someone's health insurance when they are going to see a witch doctor anyway, ignoring modern medicine.

Health insurance providers do not cover claims for witch doctors, and most require a referral from a primary care physician to avoid frivolous claims like you seem to be referring to.

Alternative medicine, which is anybody's perogative to pursue, should still be treated as an out of pocket expense. Plus most plans are high deductible these days anyway so the chances of any touring pros actually being able to use their insurance would be small, except in the case of a major catastrophe.
