I don't want to re-light a fire on the buzzz vs roc argument....seriously!!! If you are biased toward discraft or innova, or a buzzz or roc please refrain from commenting. LOL
No, seriously, I have just really loved my cryztal buzzz lately and was wondering how it compared to the Roc3. I will probably get one and try it no matter what you guys say, but I'm just curious if someone could compare the flight, one who is unbiased in some sort of nuetral way, not totally in love with one or the other (I know it's hard). I searched for this exact comparison on a thread before and haven't found anything specific enough. Comments will be enjoyed. Thanks Sponsored Links

From what I've heard if you like rocs you'll like roc3s. Got get them 1x stamps before the 2x comes out too.

If you love your cryztal buzzz, there is no need to try a champ roc 3. They're both midranges that will get the job done just fine.

Cjman, so you have thrown both and believe that they are too similar to compare? My primary reason of asking this question is to find out if there are drastic differences or subtle differences.

It depends how good you are, what type of shots you're making.
It's the same thing as every buzzz roc thread. A buzzz is a driver. A roc is a glider. Differences are minimal unless you're throwing them 350 ft. The main difference is in how the disc feels in your hand. Also, unless you're throwing 5 of each mold to compare, it's possible you have one that isn't representative of what the mold is supposed to be like. |

I have thrown both, and I would say the C Buzzz is more overstable out of the box, and doesn't beat in as fast as a Roc3. The Roc3 I had turned flippy somewhat quickly.

The flight of Roc3 gets straighter the farther/harder you throw it. When powered down a Roc3 will have more fade than a Buzzz. The Roc3 is like a fresh KC Roc on shorter shots & has a similar flight to a Buzzz when thrown full power. When the Buzzz is powered down it has less fade than a Roc3 does. The Roc3 has more glide than the Buzzz but the Buzzz is better on lower ceiling shots. The Roc3 has a bead & the Buzzz doesn't. A Champion Roc3 & a Z/Cryztal Z Buzzz are pretty much the same when it comes to durability. If you bag them both I'd say that there would be overlap. Both are good molds.
Edit - For reference I can throw both around 375' consistently. I've only had experience with flat 1x Champion Roc3's but I've had experience with Buzzz's in all plastics from multiple runs. Last edited by DiscinFiend; 12-16-2013 at 12:51 AM. |
