Default Careful Retrieving Your Disc.....Midland, TX DG Related Shooting

http://www.newswest9.com/story/26486...ect-in-midland

Quote:
MIDLAND – One man has been arrested following an incident that happened in Midland on Tuesday morning.

Midland Police were called out to the 2900 block of North "I" Street, just after 10 a.m. where they found 43-year-old Buddy Myers barricaded himself inside a home.

About an hour later, Myers and an elderly female, who were in the house, exited the house without incident.

An investigation later revealed that a 19-year-old playing disc golf inadvertently threw a disc into Myers' backyard while playing at Windlands Park.

We're told the man attempted to contact Myers at his front door but no one answered. However, when the man looked over Myers' back fence, Myers exited his home and fired a shot in the direction of the man.

Myers is behind bars on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

No injuries were reported in connection with the shooting.

Looks like it's Windlands DGC that was involved.

Looking at the layout I can see how this occured.

We even had thread on here about it in '14. I'm too lazy to look it up now though.

I've had a "gentleman" greet me with a shotgun for trespassing. (no signs posted, disc went across a creek into a wooded area)

He was very upset that "these kids were wearing walking paths through his forest." I very calmly and politely apologized and affirmed that I did not realize the park boundary ended at the creek and told him I would inform everyone I played with about his property lines. I also told him I would talk to the course designer and local club about posting signs at the Tees and look into marking/fencing the property line. He calmed down once I showed respect and an effort to correct my error, but it was still an intense few minutes!
