Default So I just ordered a ....

Katana... I need about 30 more feet on my drives. I am getting a Wraith too about 350 and sometimes can touch the scale in the high 300s.

Is this going to help with that extra distance? I hate being 50' out on a 400' hole, if I could get myself 30' closer I feel I can bang home a 20 ft putt with ease. A Boss (champ) was just too much, and I don't want to spend the time breaking it in. Is the champ Katana (170g) right for me?

youll love it once it beats in. i have a 174 champ katana that felt like a champ boss for a long time and is just now (2 months of heavy use) starting to turn significantly and glide glide glide.

IDK; have you ever tried an Orc?

Honestly the best way to be a 400' thrower is to perfect your technique instead of relying on the disc.
But if you want to take the easy way out then the Katana might be the ticket. Or maybe a Pro Boss with some wear and tear.

It'll probably get you 30 more feet, but at the cost of 30% predictability compared to the Wraith (unless your Wraith is really beat). It rides the finest line of any disc between having an amazing turn with fade at the end, and having a continuous turn and not coming back. If you can get it to ride that line consistently (unlike me) then it will probably become your favorite driver.

My buddy recently added about 30' to his FH drive by buying an ESP Nuke.

Yeah, I know, work on form vs. new disc, but he's pretty casual and doesn't play all that often, so it works for him.

A Nuke might be an option...

I give the Katana a few more months till it goes the way of the Groove. The disc is garbage. Go buy an Orc, PD, or something that will have a predictable flight.

I disagree. People hated the Groove immediately.

It will add 30' for sure. But throw it wrong and you will pay

I don't think this will be the case, the katana has received the same love as the Boss or any other popular disc recently released. They learned from the Groove feedback and came out with a better disc. I still can use my Orc for anything I'd use a katana for, with better results.
