1. Has your disc been thrown?
If yes it is 9 or lower

2. Is the rim totally smooth when you run your finger around the outside?
If Yes you may have 9. If no, then you are 7 or lower.

3. Are there small scratches on the rim?
If yes, you down to atleast an 8. multiple scratches and minor scuff bring it down to a 7. multiple scuffs and dings drop it to a 6.

4. Does the disc have a single large gouge? A single massive gouge can drop the rating 3 full points. A 9 wall hanger that fell off the wall and got a massive gouge may now be a 6.

A lot of your photos show what appears to be less-durable plastic. How does more durability to the disc's plastic affect the scale? e.g. You've got a champion disc that you've been throwing for years, has some noticable wear on it (something see on a disc that was between a 6 and 8) but it hasn't lost any stability. Would you give it an 8 if the dings/etc. were than minimal even though it's been thrown for a long time? How would rate a disc that has clearly lost stability but has only minor dings. I have discs which I would relate to each of these hypotheticals.
Because ratings are subjective I know some people may disagree. There are lots of hypotheticals and I will try to include a few in teh check list.

I have a problem rating my Pro Rhynos. They get so dirty and look nasty when they can still be in really good shape. In my opinion these are hard discs to rate.

Very nice. From your pictures, I would probably under-rate them (your 8 = my 7 & your 6's my 5).

I applaud the effort you put up. Hopefully this will clear up some confusion with the newbies.

I understand - my SE Rhyno is the same way. Dirty as all can be, but otherwise in good shape even though some stability has been lost. I'd put it no higher than a six.

I've always rated my discs lower simply because I don't want anyone to be dissapointed.

this needs to be stickied. maybe people could post pics here to get a consensus on what a used disc should be rated? i know that was my biggest fear when i started selling, was rating a disc too high and somebody griping because they thought it was lower than advertised. i know when in doubt rate on the low end (under promise and over deliver), but that may not be common sense to some of the new sellers around these parts.
