Last couple years have been a bit of a mess. My longtime workhorse Buzzz has no life left in it at this point and I struggled to find a replacement. I've decided to return to Rocs. I also lost an Glow Wizard that I'd had for quite a few years. I picked up a couple of nice stiff Organic Wizards and those have stuck as putters.
I also played around with a few different higher speed options, but this time I've settled on what I can only assume will be a DGCR approved choice. This will be the year that I give the PDs a real run at a permanent spot in my bag. Haven't tossed one since 2011 or so. I sold my original P-PD to ian. a long time ago. Looks like a solid setup, only thing I see you missing is something truly under stable. Whether it's a leopard, td, a-ss, or mid (mako, meteor, comet, etc.)

Leopard, and Sidewinder. That'd fill out that bag nicely.

I found a nicely beat 154 Starlite Wraith. It is ridiculous. I haven't taken it out to the field to measure, but it has to be going 40' further than my TeeBirds, and quite accurately and with more of a gentle throw. I can't imagine it will stand up to any wind at all.
The PDs didn't stick. I may revisit at a later time. I'm sticking to slower speeds, at least at regular weights. I put the Buzzz I've hit two aces with back in. Its not remotely flat anymore and the shots that I would use it for at this point are somewhat limited, but it hit metal off the tee again the other day and I think I'd be stupid not to throw it. I also added another Z Buzzz I'd been working with back into the mix. Looking to get a destroyer back in for distance FH. Would like to find a sidewinder for US utility. Starting in 2014 or so, I really made a conscious effort to add FH into my game. It has paid off very well. I am quite accurate with it now. I am really only using the two Firebirds and the Rhyno FH at this point, however. My putting, which along with approaching, has always been the hallmark of my game, has taken another step forward this year. That's one of the fun parts of playing this game. Mostly they have a spot at this point because they have been in the bag so long, both since 2011. They are both in their sweet spot and I have a lot of experience with them, I've thrown them both since they were brand new.
It is nice to have a putter in premium plastic to work with. I use the Ion on occasional shots where I have drive or approach and I would like a slightly less stable disc. It has also served as a backup to the S Wizard off the tee since I lost my Glow Wizard last year. I'm beating the Fossil Wizard in to take that role eventually. The M Wizard is for putting only. I'd use it for an uphill putt, one I am trying to coax a little turn out of, or one that is on the edge my range and I want to try to squeeze a little extra glide out of. Really both are great discs. Pretty narrow uses, but I'm happy to have them both. They are dependable when I call on them. Last edited by Bardu; 04-12-2016 at 11:56 AM. |

Basically Wizard / Roc / TeeBird / Firebird / Destroyer is the shell I want going forward. I worked with a Sidewinder last year and this new champ I've got is going to be great. Really nice Jolly Lancher type plastic. I'm excited to see how it stretches out as it gets worked in. Picked up an Organic Wizard circa 2011. A friend of mine threw it and then quit the game. It has sat on a shelf for the last couple of years. It is really nice feeling black organic plastic and already has plenty of wear. Most likely it will share main thrower duties with my Soft. In addition to the AJ that is already listed in my bag, I picked up a nice pair of 169 4x McBeth Star Destroyers to work with as well. Heading to Duluth this weekend. Will be playing both Mont du Lac courses and Giants Ridge. ![]() Last edited by Bardu; 04-26-2016 at 12:30 PM. |

Have you tried a Scale? Very rhyno like, based on a wizard.

No I haven't. But I do like Fossil plastic.
Honestly the Buzzz, Ion and Rhyno are just in there because I've been throwing them for five years or so. God forbid something happens to them, but idk if I would replace them. |
