Default Portable basket and target practice games.

I built a pretty sick basket out of stuff laying around work, but it isn't very portable. And I live in an apartment so it stays at my brothers house where he has nice yard to use it in...But i am looking for a relyable durable portable basket to keep in my apartment or truck. Only real experience with I have seen is the mach lite and innova discatcher. Of the two I think I like the mach lite best.

Now for the games. On my homemade basket we like to get out in the yard and play horse or doubles horse. We each get 2 discs and take 2 shots, played like basketball horse, only with 2 throws per turn. Or we will pair up if theres 6+ of us...Any other games ya'll know of or made up that is fun to play around the yard with?

We play a putting game called baseball with 1 basket. You have 9 spots ranging from 20-40 feet surrounding the basket. These are the different innings. Each player throws 4 discs an inning (unless they strike out. see below.)

If you hit metal above the top of the basket rim you get a man on base.

If you sink your putt you get a run. If you have men on base they score too. (RBI)

Below the basket rim or a complete airball counts as a strike.

3 strikes in a row and you're out.

Highest score after 9 innings wins.

Can have everyone stand 40, 50 feet out and putt. 3 points for hitting it. if you miss, you mark your lie and putt from there, 1 point for hitting that. good practice on longer putts, while also making sure you leave it close

Damn those sound like they would be a pretty good time.

Now whats your opinions on portable baskets. REAL portable, but catches well.

And do you have certain distance to shoot from or just wherever. If you only need 3 points, seems like they would get really close and drop it in.

I also enjoy horse. a great way to practice different putts. I have a buddy that is a terrible turbo putter, and i'm decent at it, so i often use it when needed

Take turn picking spots. If all you need is three then yes you could. We always play where everyone gets a chance even if you hit 21. So as longas your within 9 you have a chance

Not sure if this is a game or a way to track progress, but I jsut started doing this:

I took a 50ft piece of rope, tied a big loop in it, and put it around the pole on the base (it's big so i can remove it easlily) I then tied knots in it every 5 ft, starting at 15 ft and ending at 40ft. So what I have is a quick and easy way of knowing my distance. Now I don't have to measure each time.

I take 5 putters and start at the 15 ft mark. Putt them all, fetch, repeat. Then move to the 20ft mark: putt, fetch, repeat. And so on. It's easy to remember how many you made at each mark (out of ten putts) If I sink all 5 at any mark, I "graduate" and move to the next one. I use the 35ft mark to be the "circle"

So, in theory, I make 60 putts, ranging from 15ft to 40ft, and can have some sort of statistics as to how I did. The advantage of using specific footage really helps me judge when I can jump putt.

So the games could be assigning a point value for each putt made at each distance, bonus points for going 5/5, and so on.

Another game I'm going to be doing is "horsehoes" Two baskets, however many feet apart (probably 35-40 ft). Two players. Chain hit is 1pt, in the basket is 3pts (like a ringer, and the other guy doesn't get his 1 point) and you can "top" it to take 6 pts and so on.

Nice I just got a Mach lite that is amazing. Very portable and catches pretty well. Had a couple of spit out buy get those on qualty pole golf holes. Usually just with gumbputt I throw.

21 and horse we usually just try to make long putts but like idea of practicing keeping the second putt in a makeable distance
