It feels great in my hands. I feel like I can torque it as hard as I want and have it fall out of the sky on the dime. I always thought of the gator as more of a kid because of the 5 speed rating

I bag a Harp and a Stego and throw them constantly. Depends on your game, not everyone throws in a way to use an OS approach disc to its full potential.

Personally I threw one off the tee on 6/18 holes yesterday.

Yep as I said before my Brother has a Metal Flake Champion Gator in the Chartreuse/Highlighter green. Yeah a low glide OS approach/short midrange since most are a flat top Gator or Gator 3 type of disc.

That’s a good thread. One of the posts really stuck with me. Someone described the gator as a ball that they can throw to the basket and know it’s going to stop there because it has zero glide. That’s exactly how I would describe the gator as well. Just throw it where you want it.

This is why for years until putters like the Gator in shape were made, he used a DX Gator flat top beat in for putting and Newer one for longer putts. Now he has a DX Stud as his putter, the Gator was one good hit from becoming unusable and having the plastic fail or disc become too worn in to grip due to a now jagged outside edge.

Now The one thing he does not like about the DX Stud is the discs slight glide of 3 rather then the 2 the Gator has. He does better with the new mold in less chain baskets where the Gator would cut through if very hard putting with his standstill driving style spin putt.

I think if I were needing a rather OS approach disc, the Gator is where I would look for such a disc right now but I am not needing such a disc at the moment due to what I am using currently as I have said in posts before this.
