Anyone get a DX Katana yet? If so, how are they doing for you?

Threw it all over the place yesterday. In fairness I never had much luck with the champ version either, and it was windy as hell. I'm not giving up on it.

I have a love/hate relationship with them. The flat Stars aren't very good. They penetrate well, but lack glide and are pretty stable. They get to the end of their flight and just fall to the ground. The domier Stars and Champions are where it's at. You can rip the hell out of them and they'll S curve for days with a lot of glide.
I definitely go for the domier Katanas, especially champs. Thrown properly it's basically Innova's longest driver IMO. |

I've tried DX, Pro and blizzard. I don't think I'm ready for a speed 13 disc yet. I'll break them out again next summer and see if I can pull it off.

Love my dome top Star Katana and Vulcan. If I'm driving and need a left finish, the Katana is a beast. The Vulcan feels the same but with longer distance for me do to its S pattern, stays in the air a tad bit longer. I've never thrown DX plastic, and felt the champ stuff turned over a bit too much for me.

I found two today in some pretty nasty mud, both champ and in very good condition with no ink. The factory ink is kinda faint, but the pink one (175?) has more of a dome than the blue (168?). I look forward to trying them out. From what I read on this forum, I'm guessing I should be happier about finding the pink one?
I have a Nuke SS (kinda domey, I guess, though I don't have another one to compare it too) and I like it even though it can be flippy. Is that kinda what I can expect from a Katana? Or are these a little less understable? |

Anyone else throw the dx katana? Will it shave strokes off my game?

To me there are hits and misses with the Katana. Like the Boss, if you're throwing these on golf lines for distance, you have to have an arm, but there are some molds that'll help you stand them up and get a little turn from them. My 2 champ katanas will hyzer flip up and fly, slight turn and then finish left. I stopped throwing my high speed stuff and tried Wraiths but I couldn't get the same distance or flight out of them. The best advice I could give chub is to just throw it and see how it flies. If you have the arm to get it up, no half chub throws, you should see a nice flight from it. There are some molds that are more stable than others, like any other Innova run. |

You line up the PLH on the dx's? If so were there crazy differences? I havent seen one in person so Im curious.
What I am scared of is how quickly the pros turned into rollers, hope that isnt the same case for the dx katanas. |
