Has anybody compared these to an FD3 yet?

Really liking the Zion and it looks like the FD3 and the Zion are close, in flight numbers. However, the Zion is a few dollars more than an FD3 and for myself, a broke law student, those extra dollars matter.

I have been throwing 174g Zion and recently acquired a 175g C-line Glow FD3. I am finding the FD3 to be beefier than the Zion and a bit of a better performer in windy conditions. I like both discs and can say that the both play the same OS control driver roll with some slight variation. The Zion, to me, is a little more comfortable in the hand and I feel I can power it up easier than the FD3. If I had to choose between the two for a touch shot I would likely go Zion. If I am looking for a spike hyzer or to power through some foliage then it is FD3 time. The FD3 flare skips a bit better than the Zion for me. These two and a Sexton Firebird get swapped out of the same slot pretty often in my bag.

Anybody else still throwing these? I’ve had mine in the bag and can say this disc has beat into a solid 9/5/-2/3 with my farthest throw pushing 400’ according to UDisc.

Anyways, I was hoping this would be a good headwind disc as it beat in, like a Firebird, but I wouldnt trust it.

Does this disc compare at all to a Thunderbird?

In my experience, they start out like a Star Thunderbird, then beat in to what my previous comment in the thread states. I can't trust mine to fly straight on shots out to 350' so I replaced them with more Teebirds. One can never have too many Teebirds.

However, if you're asking if you should throw a Thunderbird over this, I'd say yes.

My buddy bags one and really likes it. I have a little more power than him and threw a fresh one the other day. Decent headwind, it flipped a little bit and then came back. I'd say it's slightly less HSS than a thunderbird with less glide.
