I just got an opto river that is dyed solid black. Flies exactly like an opto river.

Oh and to answer the hot stamp question, I have a blank axis and a stamped axis and they fly exactly the same.

Good question Craig. I have not noticed any difference in small vs. large, non vs. stamped discs. I do however notice that the prettier discs fly better but I am positive that its all in my head.

Cannot wait to throw with you when I move back home its been too long bud. Thanks again for the new minis they are sweet. BTW I gave a few to Gregg Barsby and I think he is using them now.

What about the Ching Rocs being flat topped? Didn't that stamping process alter their flight?

the stamping/decal process didn't alter their flight.... going through a flattening machine to prep for the decal process, now THAT changed them a lot.

I was under the impression that the stamping machine caused that!

Why can't they run a bunch of Champ TeeBirds (and many of the other molds that are better flat) through that machine and give us more beauties?

So I've been dyeing a lot lately, and I got in the habit of weighing the discs before and after the process, the disc weight definitely increases by as much as 2 grams after a dye, depending on how much dye is used. This is from my experience w/ idye poly.* The weight shouldn't effect the flight characteristics that much, but weight is a variable in the equations for potential flight distance, so I would say it has to change the way the disc flies, even if its not the flight path; ie longer or shorter shots...

I would guess that those 2g come more from the water absorbed by the disc than by the actual dye, I've seen discs come out of sitting in water for a long time that weigh 5g more than they're marked, a month later they were back down to the marked weight.

Not entirely true. I agree with MVP probably being one of two (DC) company's where hot stamping might change flight. The comment that you can get an entire stamp off an MVP discs is false. It's hard but not impossible.
