That's a relief.

I only celebrate Festivus so that could have been a little awkward.

I’ve never had the ability to watch DVR’d/post-produced sports and suspend my knowledge that the results have already been settled. The real spoiler is time.

I watch disc golf, soccer, and cycling on DVR and post-production. I watch the disc golf simply for enjoyment and the others to see, with my eyes, whatever narratives happened during the event (like with the post-race DQ of the winner of the U-23 cycling world championship today).

But I can’t watch thinking as long as I don’t know the results, that I can create the same narrative/viewing tension that comes with an event being live. Guess I am very much a sports kid of the 1980s. Sports are live events; once the results are decided, the rest is just viewing the event but w/o actual real-time tension.

Can't we all just take a break and argue about something else? Maybe drop into the par thread and get riled up? Or form strong opinions on whether Ricky peaked before or after switching to Innova?
I think Rickys foot faulting actually peaked with Lat64. Much less of that now? Spit outs, not sure yet.

When it come to something like disc golf, and something we're already following, and you're much more likely to get me to watch your video if you give me just enough info for me to want to watch it, without giving it all away so I have no reason to watch it.
It's like advertising a movie while giving away the ending... Why the hell would I want to watch that?
Im comparing news to news but you are probably in a smaller minority then I am in when it comes to disc golf since I cant say I know another person that would rather have click bait links to results and news over any other way.

Anyone know what the criteria is for former USDGC champions as far as qualifying goes?

I'm of the opinion that any and all former champions who maintain a > 1000 rating should get an automatic berth. Thoughts?

I don't even think the rating requirement is necessary. I'm guessing most past champs are self aware and don't want to post an emabrassing showing. And if they do want to play and finish poorly, let them.
