This was the best part of your throw. Elbow forward, good hand position, left arm by hip...

...except the upper body has gone over the top past the front foot.

Reach back in a horizontal plane, not a vertical plane?

I'm starting to mimic Simon and how he holds the disc to keep it on a horizontal plane.

Also, I'm focusing on starting the throw with my lower body. In the video Simon talked about not moving your shoulder and I recognize that for a long time I've been muscling the disc by throwing with my shoulder (which caused me to tip my upper body) so I'm consciously keeping my shoulder in check and not doing anything until I plant and push off my rear heel. NOTE: This is where I was opening up by leading with my shoulder, right? Because I'm not moving it it feels like I'm throwing much later than my body is used to but I think that's the correct thing to feel? Not sure how to put it but there's a "pause" between the brace and feeling the throw in your upper body?

Doing those two things I've had a few crushes but it's by no means consistent.

Yes very true, but in full speed I didn't catch the good parts as shown in this still frame -- just needs some work on balance and fluidity, as in the Kona clip I posted earlier.

I'll check it out again, Consult. First time I tried the link it wouldn't load but it seems fine now.

SW,

I hope I'm finally starting to get it. Is there any one thing you'd recommend I focus on fixing first?

You know, when I saw that still frame compared to the full speed video, I immediately thought of the Dan Beto drill video -- because everything leading up to that point was not good. So starting from there and working backwards seems like the easiest way to get where you want.

I gave you 3 things. The grip which you shouldn't have to focus on, set it and forget it. Planting into closed/braced upright stance(see Best Downswing Weightshift/Crush the Can) and keeping the swing level go hand in hand.

Diligently working on things - I decided to use a towel at home to focus on things; trying to get that "whip" sound without muscling it and from what I recorded it looks and feels a lot better. It really accentuates what is "wrong" with my form and the best part is I can feel the differences right now.

So, I took a putter and the towel and I'm gripping both throwing for that "whip" feel and sound while gripping a disc to get my body used to the feel. It's impossible to get that "whip" while tipping my spine and coming over my leg so I'm really honing in on swinging inside my posture right now. Hopefully I can go out to the field in a week or so and see some results.
