Was there a period of time when DX came out crayon soft? Was it a Valkyrie issue? I haven't seen a DX disc like that since.
It comes and goes. Really the amount of QC Innova has with any disc or plastic is pretty abysmal. Buying in person is the only real way to know what you are getting. OTB discs has stiffness and dome ratings too though now. But when I looked at their stock it was really sparse compared to others.

Westside Hatchet flies the closest to a DX Valkyrie from the Trilogy lineup IMO

I bag all 9-speed Trilogy discs for my fairway lineup. Here's what I throw and their Innova equivalent:

Lucid-X Felon = Firebird
Fuzion Getaway = Star Thunderbird
Biofuzion Getaway = Pro Thunderbird
Tournament Stag = Star Valkyrie
Tournament Hatchet = DX Valk/Roadrunner/beat Sidewinder

Technically the Stag is an 8-speed, but I don't notice a huge difference in hand feel. For me it is much more workable than a Saint or Escape, and workability is key when you're looking for that middle of the bag neutral flyer. But if you really want all 9-speeds than the Saint or Escape would work fine instead.

A bit late to chime in on that now, we have a bunch of discs that are not molded from Latitude 64 factory.

I like this suggestion, but it seems to depend on the plastic type. My stock Z Undertaker is much flippier than I thought it'd be. Great disc though. The Cryztal and ESP's I have are like Vultures. Limited sample size.

I LOVE this suggestion the most though. Both fly like Valks to me. I'll second whoever said a Hatchet as well. Those seem a bit touchier.

FWIW, a Lucid Escape or Opto Saint will beat in relatively quickly and hold that slot for a good amount of time. More akin to say a star Valk.
