This is true out of the box, but you can beat the LSS out of some drivers long before you beat out the HSS and they just sorta hook up without a lot of lateral movement. A beat TL or a beat to snot TeeBird goes more or less straight and has a weirdly long glide, so you could kinda give them a Comet-ish flight designation.

Except you can't because of the seasoning you need to do to get there and (to me) the fact that you can't get that flight from them by throwing them like a Comet. It's a lower line fast driver shot VS. a floaty glide-ride high line shot. There are too many variables floating around there. So I get back to agreeing with you; it's probably a disc that does not exist and cannot exist.

But to the original concept of the Dart being a baby Comet: Anyone who thinks a Dart is a baby Comet has never thrown an APX.

They start out that way, but Gold Line Rivers get understable/flippy relatively quickly, and even Opto Rivers start to get flippy faster than more durable plastics like Champion. I know; I have a stack of them.

Gotta add a vote for FD. Granted no experience with the MVP or Discraft stuff mentioned but I put the River in my bag when the FD wont finish far enough right. They start less stable and beat to less stable even in Opto. River might have more glide, but barely. S-line FD has tons of glide and powers down as well as powers up really well, like a comet.

of What I've used I'd say the PROXY (by axiom) is a buttery straight putter and its sweet. Also the ALIAS is a longer proxy so its somewhat like a comet . Then for longer, I'll agree with the FD statement

I've always thought the Magnet was the shorter Comet...

An Alias is like a Comet in so much as they're both midranges. That's about the extent of the comparison.

well they are both very straight midranges and can be finessed to shape nice smooth lines. So yeah, different design and such. Comet is more wide, glidey oldschool style and Alias is smaller diameter with a modern feel/rim. But the uses are similar and the flight is similar in that they are buttery straight. But yes I agree that they are still 'different'.
