Default 8x KC Pro Viper

I just got a nice looking 8x KC Pro Viper and I was wondering if anyone has experience throwing these? Do they fly like DX vipers? The one I have seems to be in excellent shape, no real signs of being thrown. Is it worth throwing, or should I keep it as a collector disc?

Probably just more OS than your run of the mill DX Viper. I wouldn't expect it to be too much different, but I have no clue if innova's tweaked the mold since then or what. With a company like innova, I'd almost put money on the mold being changed since then.

The KC version is extremely flat, my DX have a little dome to them.

The KC Vipers were a tick more overstable than the DX ones at the time. The DX Vipers of that time were a tick more overstable than the DX Vipers you get now. So if you are comparing it to a Viper off the shelf today, it's going to be beefy.

I'm not sure what kind of market there would be for one; it's kinda all over the place. An 8X Aviar or Roc has a lot of value as a collector and a thrower and their prices are high. An 8X Cheetah or Gazelle are more of just a collectible with no thrower value so they don't have much value at all. I'd have to guess the Viper would be closer to Cheetah value than Roc value, but I'm just guessing.

It looks like LSDiscs sold an 8x KC Pro Viper a few days ago on ebay with a list of $50, but says "a best offer was accepted" so it may have gone for more.

Nice find. I love Vipers and would have a hard time not throwing it.

It sounds like a super cool feel-good disc. Vipers attract me more than most discs with their nostalgia and uniqueness. Throw it unless it will bring you more pleasure sitting by your desk years from now.

Actually that means it went for less, not more. In a "Buy it Now" type listing on eBay, no one would offer more than the list price because you can just buy it for the list price. Someone offered less than $50 and LSDiscs took the offer. That still doesn't tell you if it went for $25 or $40, but it's definitely less than $50.

Thanks for the info. I'm not a collector, but just stumbled across it. Might as well use it for what it was intended for.

Gotcha. the expired listing was worded a little strangely.

Have fun with your very cool Viper!
