I just ordered a 154g Air River. Normally when new and around 167-172g the damn thing flies straight with little fade. My beat to crap GL 170g River is dead straight if I wanted it to be. I'm hoping this 154g wont be too flippy.

I'm expecting to throw it on a slight hyzer to have it flip up.

Anyone like these Air Rivers?

I have an Air Flow, but not an Air River. The Air Flow flies pretty well for me, and the plastic is good. I do suspect that with use that Air River is going to get flippy on you... but when that happens it should be a great disc for shots in the woods for accuracy (i.e. powered down or hyzer-flipped).

I just ordered a 150g Pro Tern. Anyone have any experience with one of these? What should I expect?

I'm working towards more 150 class drivers. Love the 150 star Tbird and star Valkyrie. I don't think I'd throw 150 class in anything but a driver but then I've never tried them. If I do try them (mids and PnA) I might have to buy more discs and I'm trying not to do that as often as I used to.

This.^^^ I've also been going lower in weight as the disc goes up in speed. My Pro Shryke is in the 150s, and its doing well for me. My fairway drivers are still in the 160s, and the mids and putters in the 170s, often max weight.

I finally lost my 150 DX Thunderbird in a lake - that disc was still flying stable after 6 months of abuse. It was a great disc for winter, RIP.

Actually, some of my most often thrown drivers right now are, 157g opto Jade, 159g lucid Breakout, 162g star Tee-bird, and probably thrown more than any other is my 168g goldline River. That River can be thrown dead straight and as far as any disc I own right now, and it will ride out some decent wind.

I've been on a g star kick lately and all my buddies know this. One of them gave me a g star destroyer that is 152 grams. He said he never throws it and I can just have it. This has been my go-to distance driver for backhand and forehand. My backhand distance averages 350 and I consistently hitting 380 and on a few drives 400 according to udisc. I have never been a great forehand player. I've been slowly incorporating forehand upshots and short forehand drives. Never been confident in my forehand for more than 200. But this 152 g star destroyer has gotten me easy 320 plus distance. Which has been a great help on holes that need a right finish that are 300+. This disc has me start to rethink my whole bag. I mostly bag near max weight besides 2 discs other than this g star destroyer.
