Default Sidewinder vs Heat

Trying to settle on a slightly understable 9 speed. Something with more give than a Valkyrie (Star/Champion). I've been using a Star Sidewinder for a while and it's been working out.

Is the Heat close in stability/speed? What's different about the two?

Have pawed quite a few but only own and have thrown an X Heat and it's closer to a Roadrunner than a Star Sidewinder.
Also, if you like the feel of the Sidewinder, the Heat feels a bit awkward (to me anyway). All the ones I have seen are very domed.

I think the Sidewinder is more controllable.

Sidewinders are all over the place...I would have to throw yours to compare.

I have only thrown a Big Z Heat. It is slightly understable with a pretty flat fade. I felt it was harder to get up to speed than a sidewinder, but it had better glide at low speed.

The one I threw did have a big dome and I feel big Z is harder to grip than Z. Better plastic or less dome would have made it easier for me to throw, but ymmv.

I am a big fan of Ti plastic. I may end up ordering a Ti Heat as almost all the Ti discs I have seen have less dome.

Just my 2 cents, hope it helps

That's my worry. Don't want to commit if that's how they are. I prefer ESP & Z. The Heat is offered in both of those so I just wanted to hear more feedback before I buy a few.

Not to derail the thread, but the 2 discs that fly the most like a Valk but with more turn and glide is:

Kastaplast Falk. It is a higher glide Valk. It flys like a Valk but that extra glide allows it ro travel longer in the turn without burning.

MVP Inertia. More understable but a speed higher. For that reason, for my arm, they almost can be interchanged.

Everyone I see throwing one is in Big Z. I dont know if they like them better or if its because that was what was released early on.

You could jump over to the MJ thread, I think he bags one and he is pretty good at answering questions...when he is on.

Also not to derail the thread, but the Falchion is very much like the Champion Sidewinder. Falchion has tons of glide, but it might be a wee bit more stable than you want.

I haven't tried a Heat, but saw a guy on my home course lacing one out to a park job by the basket at 307 ft. away. So it looks like it's a good disc.

I agree, I think Ti plastic is the most durable, slick as glass, plastic I have ever seen. It just slides through the air, I love it!

Never thrown a Champion, so I can't speak to them.
But I have 4 star Sidewinders and none of them is weird.
Maybe I've been lucky, but my Sidewinders have been far more consistent than the Valkyries I've had/have.
