If you don't try the Wizard/Scale combo, your not really trying.

I have given up throwing putters. I haven't found a single throwing putter that does anything a Roc can't do. (excluding really overstable stuff). It's not for a lack of trying either, I have an ungodly amount of putters. I occasionally throw a Rhyno for upshots, but only short stuff when I'm trying to run the basket.

Does anyone else just skip the putter slot for throwers?

I do a weekly putter only league and use sp breakers for my overstable and forehand slot. They have a slim profile and the slight dip around the rim to me makes it feel almost like a thumbtrac. I find myself going to my breaker in a lot of situations I used to use a quake.

I'm surprised no one has suggested a zone yet. Best os putter on the market imo. I'm comfortable throwing it both backhand and forehand. Plus it comes in a wide variety of plastic. Do you want something that skips? Then get esp or z. You want something that sits where it hits? Then get soft or jawbreaker.

What do you use for approaches or short drives? If I use a midrange on anything less than 200' I will blast past the hole unless I just throwing a big hyzer.

I felt the same way with the Regular to Domed Shark discs, I have a last run of Pro and then a Star in the bag as well as 2 Star Backups all discs at ~175 grams and then a potantal Almost G-Star Star at ~174 grams as a back up for the Pro Shark. Those Shark I use as driving putter for the Star and then Approach with the Pro Shark and Star Shark as well as both plastics for windy day putter at ~25-27 mph or more. I use the Shark as a multi use putter type disc as though it is missing the glide a putter has the speed makes up for a putter. I do have a Prostyle #2 Upshot for uphill and downhill putting where I want the disc to sit, though the Prostyle #2 Upshot might get replaced with a Proline Titanic that molded up too flexible that has a mini concave spot on one side of the disc's top plate. I use Jawbreaker Magnets 2 on more beat in then the other and when weather is too hot past 93-95 F for Jawbreaker plastic I use 2 Proline Titanic discs ( as well as object in the way putts) as those Proline Titanic discs then have grip like a Jawbreaker Magnet in hot weather.

If it's under 100 ft I'm usually jump putting. If I have to throw something, depending on the distance I usually just toss a Beat in Roc like a putter. They really don't go much further than a putter. It's all about speed and angle control. Occasionally I will throw a Rhyno that I'm trying to beat in to be a putting putter, but that is if I'm trying to run the basket. I'm also not playing many courses that have holes under 200 ft.
