I have family members that surprised me. Backed off a little from a few. A few friendships have ended but they weren't strong ones anyway.

interesting, I had something of an opposite realization. once covid hit and the real idiots started to show themselves I was pretty happy with how few people I had to let go from my life.

I think you are simply reading frustration, Dad. Nobody is honestly suggesting we not treat Covidiots in the hospitals, nobody is really wishing ill upon those viewing science as a belief and nobody is going to taser anyone for ignorance.

Many of us are just tired of dealing with selfish, self centered people. The foundation of a Covidiot's deficits is generally their own inability to understand and deal with their frustrations and emotions. Mostly, they only know they are angry, irritated, suffering in some way. Without any coping skills or mechanisms, they lash out and try to solve their problems in completely inappropriate manners. Many of us here are experiencing the same frustrations. This forum is providing an outlet of sorts.

When I was but a wee lad of adulthood I envisioned a squad of “idiot police” that would provide similar retribution to people too lazy to put their shopping carts away.

It has not happened, but the idea is still pleasing.

I can relate to this. I would hate walking out to my car after leaving Walmart, Target, etc. and seeing a shopping cart near my car after the person that was parked beside me decided to just leave it there instead of walking about 40 feet and putting it in the corral.
