Basically, F=mc2 with the mass being your body. You have to not throw discs like you are playing catch with frisbees (throwing with your arm) and get your body mass into the throw. The easiest way for most people is to develop a simple x-step (you don't want to run up and try to throw it as hard as you can) and have your arm follow your body mass around. We are talking right-hand backhand style throwing here. Find a grip that works for you and watch videos wich will help a lot.

Do what I should have done...start with just the putter and midrange. Get used to them and work on your form. Once you are at the point where the discs are going where you want them to and you can shape your shots with them .... then add the next level disc. I jumped into fairway drivers too soon and am trying to convince myself to use just a putter and midrange for awhile.

Destroyers and 180g discs do not seem like good choices for a starter set. Seems like more of a 'grow into' set. Maybe Innova expects new players to start with the putter and midrange, then as they get better move into using the other discs. But we know what will happen....all will get thrown and the player will wonder why they aren't going as far as they should and why aren't they getting better. |

I think it really depends on the store personnel selling them the correct starter kit.
I had a good buddy at work (totally new) go to PIAS with a $100 budget for a shoulder bag and some discs. They picked out and sold him a Champion Boss. ![]() |

Lots of these starter sets get sold at big box stores. I know my local Walmart and Fleet Farm both sell them. I can all but promise that the people there are totally clueless about virtually anything, including disc golf.
