Taking the plunge

We played in our first Ice Bowl this past weekend. VERY aptly named this year. Winds gusting to 50+, intense snow squalls and temps around 15 degrees! No Whimps, No Whiners! We had a great time. Angie placed 2nd, and I came in 3 strokes back tied for 5th.

That was it. She's hooked on tourneys. So were are finally gonna join the PDGA.

Nice, i also joined the pdga after my first ice bowl in 2010. The pdga cool and if you play enough tournaments you will make your money back. i only played 4 tourneys this year so i only saved 40 bucks.
im excited about this weekend i am playing the Horseshoe Canyon Ice Bowl , in Jasper arkansas.

I have never played this course but it is rated one of the top courses in arkansas. i cant wait

Great course, I was trying to scheme how I could make it to this ice bowl... not gonna happen. Horseshoe is what got me hooked on this sport, I originally went there for a week or rock climbing, DG was included with free rental discs, haven't looked back since.


Even if you only "save" $40, there's plenty of other advantages to joining other than the $10 on tourneys.

I hear from everyone that this ice bowl is one not to miss. and i hear the summer months are not the best for playing horseshoe canyon due to it being very grown up, so this is my last chance of the year to play it. I do a lot of bouldering so i plan on going friday, saturday, and sunday so i can do both golf and climbing. ive been looking at a lot of pictures and i cant believe ive never made the trip seeing as how its only a 2 and half hour drive

A few of your Ra-cha-cha homies did quite well at the Ridge last Saturday. If you have half as good a time as I did you'll have a great time. No different than a casual round. Good luck.

In my experience (about 8 ice bowls this winter), Ice Bowls are casual play, just like getting together with a group of friends in the afternoon and throwing a round. 'Cept usually these are your new friends that you'll be discing with next week.

I was at an Ice Bowl on Saturday where it was in the 60's and sunny. May actually have hit the low 70's around midday. Missed you, BillnChristy!

I work Saturdays, and had to take time off for this week, or I would've come out. You should swing over and make fun of me this weekend! Two 19 hole rounds at Basil. Just stay off the trees!
