So I follow the code of ethics: pack in/out, no vandalism, call backs, etc....
A friend of mine doesn't. It's starting to effect our friendship outside of dg. It kinda started when I found a champ on a hole, gave a call- no answer, then turned it into the throw shop like my message stated. He was upset that I didn't give it to him- i don't toss innova so I usually give him the uninked. Then he got an ace and marked it. Then he found this kids disc (prob 7 or 8 years old) and said he d turn it in to the shop but didn't! I told him I was ashamed especially cause I just lost a disc on that hole and recieved a call. The next week I saw him with another one of the kids discs. I'm like come on! He lives close to the course and the kids cool, especially for being so young. The course is new and run by a respectable dg family so making the ace was bad enough. His thought is that he put finders keepers, losers weepers on his discs so he's even. WTF. Any suggestions? Remember Ive been friends with him before I even knew about dg Sponsored Links

The question is, does this attitude carry over into every day life?

Don't worry about it; karma will catch up with him.

umm, that guy sounds like a d-bag. if he acts like that about other things outside disc golf, how did you guys become friends? respecting a course (trash etc) and people (returning discs) to me should be automatic. your momma taught you that, apparently this guy needs a whoopin.

He a stand up guy outside of dg. Just cheap. I've given him a med innova bag and discs. Our other friend said we should get him straps for x mas. I was like he'll no, maybe if he buys Marcus some new discs for x mas. I have an extra set of straps but he'll not be getting any more freebies from me. Is it that people without a lot of plastic don't call?

No you are not imho. I think you aren't taking it seriously enough. Confront him with his juvenile and immoral behavior. If he continues to be a D-bag, and lets be honest here, he is a d-bag; anyone who would takes not 1 but 2 discs from a little kid is a d-bag of the highest order, then it's time to get a new friend.
I know that might sound harsh and it might be tough but I've recently had to let go a friend that I've had for almost 40 years. Long story. But in the end my oldest friend and I had unreconcileable differences and so we are friends no more. |
