Now I have a smörgåsbord of information to use and try. Thanks you to everyone that has contributed. This should help get me off this throwing plateau.

From the reach back, if you start your pull too late, it will feel as if you are releasing early and without full power if you release on your intended L-R line. This often causes the player to hold onto the disc until they feel they have reached the proper rotational pivot point to power up the disc. Hence, grip-lock.

For me, the timing of when to start moving the disc forward is as important most any other factor.

Didn't read thread. If you go between lock and early release... you are swinging through on your throw instead of pulling across your chest. You can't really grip lock or throw way early if you pull across your chest...usually then you are just slightly off with aim or nose angle.
