Default Playing Handicap League After It Starts?

Looking for options or ideas to encourage people to play in a handicap league after its started. Its a really relaxed Cali singles handicap that I just threw together to get the flow going again.

Maybe something based on there PDGA ratting or tournament scores compared to someone whos established a handicap? I just dont want people to not participate because they feel like they dont have a chance. The whole idea of a handicap is everyone has a chance. Ideas?

Have a prize that only first-timers can compete for.

You can give the player their handicap strokes in their first round just as if that was their average. If they are only getting 80-90%, they're unlikely to contend for prizes but if enough others are having an off round, they might win something.

At end of round choose 6 holes at random. 18 hole handicap is established based on +/- par on those 6 holes. Then multiply by 3. So if you are +3 on those 6 holes, then you will be a +9 handicap for the day.

Isnt this already the result that divisions give. If the USDGC cant get people to care about handicap style disc golf then I dont think anybody can.

Hard to get a handicap league started unless you have a group of people willing to establish handicaps first. For years I've been running a handicap league requiring three establishing rounds before entering competitive play. Quite a few people have expressed interest then been completely turned off they could not enter competitive play right away.
