Default Big bag, only three or four discs thrown.

So here I am getting back into disc golf after a big hiatus. I have been playing rounds with my 7 year old as he is just starting out. I am playing more as a recreational player right now with the goal of getting back to tag play.

He currently owns three discs and is only allowed to throw those three discs. I want him to learn those three discs before he gets anymore.

I am doing the same thing, only throwing 3 or 4 discs out of 25 total discs in my bag. So here is my question.

Is it a good practice to dial in those 3-4 discs and then slowly expand out or do I do field practice with all my discs and play all of them?

Thanks in advance.

In practical terms, 25 flights don't exist. Especially at your (and my) skill level. So while it might be handy to have a big stack for practice, there's no point in carrying that many for play. Understand the distinct lines you want to and can throw. There may be a dozen if you include short and long range versions.

It literally makes no difference, so don't stress about it.
Try both and see what you prefer.
(I'd guess you'll ultimately end up somewhere between the two extremes.)

Since two discs of the same mold fly differently, two discs of different molds fly differently. Throw the ones that are most predictable for you, whether it’s many or few molds.

You need a putter, a hyzer, an anny, a bright colored one for where they're hard to find, and one without your name in it for throwing near children or windows. So 5 is enough, provided you don't lose one.

Now that is some of the best advice I have heard.
