Does EVERY thread need the same revolution talk? Nobody is changing the baskets, it has been well debated. Why not just keep it in the small baskets, fried food and BBQ thread?

The first time you ever played the game was during a C tier?

Of course not, nor should it be for the players involved in this initiative.

So I played ultimate for years. Never played travel tournaments, but I played local leagues and tournaments. We had handlers that I'm sure could be great disc golfers if they wanted, but most of us were nothing but cutters and not even particularly interested in throwing frisbees. It was about running and catching and playing defense to me.

^ As he said. Its the ultimate disc. You could use an innova pulsar but they just don't fly the same. One of my buddies throws some of his upshots with an ultimate disc sometimes.

That's the whole point of this initiative. To introduce ultimate players to the sport. USAU realizes their membership are bored of sitting around with no competitions, so they asked if we could give them something fun to do. This is an introduction to disc golf for ultimate players. Pay $10, get a quick rules lesson, go have fun, win a prize at the end.

This is how we “grow the sport” in a positive and sustainable way.

More participation.

Happy for McBeast he is driving a fancy car he enjoys, simultaneously I don’t care.

For me, sports have always been much more about participation than someone becoming a superstar making silly money.
