Austin to Houston to Baton Rouge and back

Leaving early Saturday April 7th for a road trip to Houston then on to Baton Rouge for a bowling tournament. Want to hit up some courses along the way. Looking at trying to hit atleast 1 course on the North West side of Houston just off of HWY 290 before I get on I 10 headed east. Any suggestions and/or possible guides available to play say around 9-10 AM Saturday? Please hit me up with a PM or on thread. I will be checking back periodically throughout the day/week as time is available. The East side of Houston is also possible, and anything along the way to Baton Rouge. Don't have to be in Baton Rouge till Sunday evening.

Your best bet, is Texas Army Trail off Hwy 290 and Telge Rd. Its about 1 mile from Hwy 290, and an awesome course to play. Also some good places to eat around there , just up the road at Spring Cypress Rd@hwy 290

Also, when you go though Beaumont, if you have time, you gotta play Kline Park. Great course to play. One of my favorites.

Looking at this course, it looks like it has the first 4 holes wide open, then gets into the woods for some technical shots. Looks like some fun. If your available, my plan is to get there around 9 am Saturday morning. Come on out and if you can.

Acadiana-Duzee in Lafayette, LA is a nice course with one of the tallest elevated baskets I've ever seen. Highland Rd Park in Baton Rouge was also nice, but a little hard to navigate since they are changing things around a bit and the map is not that accurate.

I agree with Midnight, Texas Army Trail would be your best option if you want to stay close to 290. Winwood is another great course, but it is a little further off your route. Both are good. TAT is longer and harder, but it does not have concrete tee pads.

I would guide for you at Oak Meadow, but I have a schedule confilict this Saturday.

Thanks for all the input, I have sorta made this schedule for the trip out. TAT (Texas Army Trail) in Cypress Saturday morning around 9 AM (I should arrive there by 8:45 or so. Play this course then head out to Beaumont to play Klein Park, should arrive there around 2:30 or so, and tee off around 3PM, should finish no later than 6 then head on to Baton Rouge. Get up Sunday morning and go play City park. Might drive back to Acadiana-Duzee in Lafayette, LA to play a round or maybe even two there to hit the other course there also. Tuesday night after we finish bowling, going to head down to New Orleans for a bit of partying on Bourbon Street for my brother in laws birthday, then get up Wednesday morning and play Falnacher. Then head back towards Texas and hit a course somewhere on the way to Texas City for some offshore fishing on Thursday before heading back either late Thursday night or Friday. Then on Saturday once I am back, hit up Met Center for the Indepences/Top Notch Charity Tournament and then Sunday Battle of Backland Prairie 3 tournament at Manor's East Metropolitan Park. If anyone is available during these times that is willing to join us for a round, shoot me a PM and I will give you my cell number to get in touch and finalize the details.
