DX Firebird

I've been wanting to try beating one in and see if it becomes a straight flyer that performs well in all kinds of wind conditions. I got one today and spent a few hours on it, but it's not beating in very quickly. Anyone care to spoil the surprise?

Probably depends a lot on the weight.
I had one around 150g until I gave it away earlier this year.
It did anything but go straight for me.
It was very squirrely and inconsistent.
I'm glad it's gone.

I have one that is beat enough to turn, though it still has some fade. I would assume that at some level of beat it would be a straight flier, it just might take a while to get there.

Well, I find a dx teebird loses fade and becomes dead straight. Doesn't take long to get there. Then the teebird starts turning. Also doesn't take long to get there. I have stopped using dx teebirds because they don't hold the sweet spot for very long.

I'm guessing any dx disc will become a worm burner eventually. But if the FB starts turning before losing all fade, that's not so great.

I also have a 175 DX FB. It's taken a few hard hits to trees, spike hyzers, etc. and still has a very healthy dose of fade and no turn - much like it was new. If it does do anything when beat, it's going to take a while more to get there (for both of us).

Before I posted this thread, I did a search. (Thanks prerube, see what you've done?) I even went to google and searched and found a DGR thread where Blake was pronouncing the beat DX Firebird to be teh awesome with awesome sauce. So where's the love?

Ive got a Champ Firebird thats been in my bag for 4 years. I think its an 11x but I got it used too. It is one of my favorite discs to throw. It tracks a bit to the right when thrown RHBH but I can always count on it to come back. If I throw it at 80% power, it goes straight and has the reliable finish at the end of its flight.

I use a dx Firebird just like this, I have one in my bag that will flip flat but not turn over too much if at all. I found 172g best for me. I tried 175 and it stayed stable too long.

I've always loved a good stable dx driver broken in. They're dependable.

I have a beat to hell star firebird that I love. It maintains it's uber high speed stability and resistance to turn. It still fades but not as dramaticly or early. Not as noticeable for me for backhands but it's just about my best disc for delayed hyz forhands.

How does the Dx firebird's high speed stability hold up? I imagine it is a better backhand disc than premium plastic firebirds. (not that they are bad...I just find myself and many others don't usually need or want to backhand anything as stable as a premium plastic firebird )
