I am looking for a good basket and looking to spend around 200-250ish. It is for my backyard so portability isnt really an issue...
what one do you all recommend? where's the best place to get it from? thanks! Sponsored Links

I just made they decision myself. I had narrowed it down to innovas discatcher sport and chings $250 model. I ended up with the sport as it was $50 less. I bought local but gggt has a good selection.

I considered the both Ching and Inova but I went with Lightning. The DB5 is in your price range and other than the single set of chains (I added another set) and the cheap portable base, it's a good basket. The galvanizing is first rate. I've had mine for about three years and no rust or other problems. Check out the link below. IIRC I paid $175 and free shipping.

I added a set of chains to my InStep. I measured the length I needed then I had them cut it at Lowe's. I just used zip ties to put them on the top, then I used a pieice of #8 copper wire as the loop on the bottom. Here are the pics:

Of course adding chains to a PDGA approved basket makes it "not approved" anymore - not that the basket police are going to come cite you.

That basket dosen't get used in tournaments, so I think I am ok.

It was more of a "Huh?" since people would think adding chains would make them catch better, which they do. But unless the chain upgrade sets are provided by the manufacturer and that upgraded basket version has been tested, technically they don't meet the specs any more. But so far, no one has objected to inner chain upgrades except for the highest level events.
