Default Disc Golf in......Literature?

A few years ago a good friend of mine, who happens to hold a PhD in English Lit, recommended that I read the Mars Triliogy by Kim Stanley Robinson. I hadn't really read any Sci-Fi prior to that, but trust the source and gave it a go. I was floored. Amazing writer. I was hooked.

A few years later and I'm now working through the "Science in the Capitol" series. 27 pages in to the second book (Fifty Degrees Below) and our hero discovers disc golf! Holy Crap! KSR has an interesting perspective on our game and it makes me believe that he must play himself.

I feel strangely validated by this.

Anyone else come across disc golf references in their reading?

I've read about three disc golf books, but haven't run across it in any other reading.
