Default Disc Golf Course On Fire

Ann Dever Park was on fire yesterday and some of it was in the woods where the disc golf course is.

Word on the street was it was one of those no good cigarette smoking disc golf hooligans, but I haven't been able to confirm it. Fire is part of the natural cycle and there are those that could argue that the course could use a good burnin' (By trained professionals, of course).

Bastards... I had a fire up at my place from that... and it was an experienced crew of discers with ashtrays and everything.. I hate it when people are ignorant. scares the **** outta me especially the wildfires that start from tossing a butt out the window.

No doubt they will point the finger at us when many park users are just as dumb. You aren't allowed to smoke in parks in Canada maybe it's just the CRD where we are.. Haha it still happens especially in our disc park

One of our local courses is one of the most popular in western Washington. It's on private property the landowners allowed the local club to fund and install a top notch free-to-play course on. There is a strict no smoking policy on the course, but we still catch people smoking out there.

If these ass hats that can't refrain from a smoke for an hour and a half had any idea that if a fire were to start out there, no matter how small, the property would close faster than your head could spin and that course would likely be history, overnight, no warning.

From the article and the drone footage the fire was in two locations. Maybe when they smelled smoke they realized they started a fire and their jaw dropped letting another cigarette fall on the dry grass again.

So you guys with that sub-tropical "wet" climate are burning while we here in the midwest are flooding from record monthly rainfalls?

You guys sure it wasn't just the sun reflecting off someone's budlight can in the weeds that started it?...

Yes. The rainy season is taking its time getting here this year for SW FL.

I just put metal buckets around our course the other day for this exact reason. I smoke myself but I also have a whole pocket of my bag full of butts that I've put out and packed out. I've responded to big fires before, namely wood buffalo and have no intention of causing my own... And fire brands can travel for miles and light spot fires where they land if conditions are right so 2 fires is possible from one source. if theyre within 10 miles or so.

This is the wood buffalo fire from the medevac that flew me in to run one of the 2 ambulances available north of the fire and help evac 4000 people who were already displaced. Pic doesn't do justice, "sobering" was the only word I could come up with at the time to describe the size of it.

It extends far beyond the border of the frame in 180 degrees to both horizons almost.
