I know I would have bought an Atlas a few years after they came out if it not for the odd rim attachment, I was looking for a better flying midrange then the DX Stingray for me.
Agree. I did have an Atlas, and it was one of only a few molds that I really hated.

I've never thrown an atlas but I'll agree with you and Casey here. I threw one of my buddies Novas last year and my god did that thing feel strange. As Casey alluded to, the underside is, well, strange. It just doesn't feel good in the hand. I bet if Discraft made an overmold that Paul threw it'd sell like hotcakes though.

The four mounting points under the Atlas never bothered me. My hand isn't that big where I couldn't find a comfortable grip without hitting one of them.

I threw the Atlas quite a bit in the field, but it never instilled any confidence in me especially in the wind. It's a very straight flyer, but it's just a bit too unforgiving for my throwing style.

I've been throwing a lot of my old mids lately though, so maybe I'll give it another go.

I had a f2 Atlas for a bit, but I will concur that the grip was just odd. It flew nice and straight, but I never enjoyed throwing it. I'm surprised Innova hasn't tried to refine its overmolds with another version of the Atlas or a new disc all together.

Novas did not have the attachment points, but still strange due to how deep the putter is and how the overmold has the connection part on the edge if the top plate. It sold well for those who wanted one due to a top level pro using the mold and being a putter that to me seems it would be hard to drive with, would be in a persons bag longer. If the Atlas was made as a non overmold disc, the mold would be nice one to use but just nearly the same mold as a Mako 3 type disc.

Yeah the attachment points could get in the way of the hands on the mold, reason I did not pick the mold as my current midrange. I did not want to have to keep hands in one of 4 spots on the disc with fingers just behind a connection point by about 1/2 inch or 1 CM.

I wonder if this explains the Savants I have that fly like Thunderbirds? I just can't come to grips with that disc.
