Default Gateway Titan is one stout target

I played a new course at Lions Club Park in Rolla, Missouri on vacation last week, and all of the targets were Gateway Titans. I was impressed with the heavier gauge steel used for the basket components, and the chain configuration. A few holes into the round I joined a pair of players who were playing at the same time. One of the guys turned out to be Gateway Disc Golf's Dave McCormack, and the other was a pro from Austin, Brad Williams. Dave had designed the course. When I found out Dave owned Gateway, I felt stupid for asking if the baskets were homemade earlier. Not that they looked homemade. I liked the deep baskets, and the chain thickness and layout are supposed to catch a disc better, although I couldn't certify this after only 18 holes. At any rate, I enjoyed the course, the company. The remarkable appearance and reasonable price are enough to convince me to install a Titan in my back yard.

They look amazingly like disc golf baskets:The goofy white pipe is not usually there, I guess the Lions Club thinks it makes them more visible? Maybe they are going to put flags on them? Who knows? Anyway, those are added.

They catch nice, I just didn't get the "remarkable appearance" reference. It might just be me, they are on several courses around here so I see them all the time. I just don't remember ever being struck by their appearance.

When I heard the word titan, I expected the basket to have a more death metal appearance. I'm kind of disappointed.

I didn't think they ever got approved for play in sanctioned tourneys...has this changed recently?

I see that they're on the approved target list, but they don't have an "approved date" listed.
