Default Post statistics say something?

Ever notice that this is Disc Golf Course Review but the course section in the forum has the 4th most posts behind General, Equipment and Water cooler, in that order.

Nothing against the site, because I love the site; I think it is just indicitive more of how we are compared to what we say we are as the posters on here.

For example, you will get the advice all the time to disc down and just throw X disc and work on your techniques but, by contradiction, the equipment section has over 3 times, almost 4 times, the number of posts as the technique section. Add in the marketplace and you get your 4 times. There might be more "Does it count as an ace" threads than their are threads in technique.

I know some of it has to do with what you actually have to talk about but there are a few things I think we could make better use of, and I am guilty of it myself. This site has a lot of nice tools that get ignored with the disc organizer and scorebook, etc. One thing I wish we were more on top of actually is not so much the dashboard tools as updating tournament and event schedules on some of the courses and maybe more posting in the Tournaments section as the tournament approaches so people know about it before any deadlines to enter. Of course, that would require me to watch it more.

Again, not bashing anyone because I am equally if not more guilty; I just find it interesting.

There's a reason for that: there is no proper form or technique. If I throw this way and Bill Nye the Science Guy throws this way and we both have outstanding results, who's to say our forms are wrong?

The ace questions are simple, if your first throw off the tee goes into the basket it's an ace. No gray area here.

Not hard to understand, I just find it interesting.

The fact that there are so many different techniques would lead me to think there is more to talk about rather than less.

But yes, no doubt when you can talk about ANY disc golf topic in one area and ANY topic whatsoever in another, and with the ammount of discs, plastics, etc not to mention that plastic bug, those are going to be top dog.

Also, this isn't the destination site for top players who tend to spend the most time analyzing and talking about the nuances of technique. From what I've seen, there seems to be more of that on DGR, and to some extent, the PDGA forums.

the reason that we don't talk about courses as much as other topics is that we are all scattered. I don't play Texas or Wisconsin Courses, alot of you have never played a course in Maryland. What are we going to talk about when it comes to courses.
We all have discs in common and all know the topics at the water cooler.
plus the General disc golf chat is WAY MORE FUN!!!

Oh, I love the equipment forum but I have to be carefull not to get that "I WANT THAT!" urge in my head but I like reading a lot of the technique stuff as well. I read on and watch technique stuff and sit in my chair with a disc, gripping it, doing slow-mo motions and my fiance thinks I am out of my mind, but it is fun to break away from that from time to time, and there is much more to talk about.
