Looks like Paul will not play any more tournaments until Worlds, odd for him to miss idlewild

He’s newly married and building (built?) a house, plus his tournament play is far from his only DG iron in the fire. With the DC sponsorship money, I say good on him for picking and choosing where and when he plays.

It's only two weeks off before Worlds so not that big a break. My guess is he does a little more vacationing in Europe, comes home and spends a week in Virginia, then heads to Peoria so he can get some practice in at Northwoods (presumably he has Eureka down).

Must be nice to be in a position where he doesn't have to race back to the States to hit the next tour event and keep earning.

If he feels like he can maintain his insane form it might be good to take a break before Worlds, I have a feeling that winning Worlds means everything to Paul.

Agreed.
He sees Worlds as a necessary step toward solidifying his brand.
Which is extremely important to his long-term plans.

He said he was going to Peoria two weeks early. He sounded focused and determined to win another World's.

Perhaps the fact that Innova is main sponsor, not Discraft? Perhaps farther down the list among the other reasons stated above, he's averaged below his rating on this layout?
