Maple Grove Minnesota I forgot this in the name of post
![]() https://www.dgcoursereview.com/media...e=1&cimg=91274 ![]() This is the hole for the day, how do you approach it It is 301 feet slight uphill and to the left. I would use my Stalker as I can only throw about 250-275 feet or so max consistently. I might use if it is more up then it looks my Shark or my as that disc will sit better and can get height better then my Stalker can. Sponsored Links

The picture does not do it justice. It is not a "slight uphill". I have 400 foot power, and I can barely reach it. It plays closer to 370 or so. You have to throw uphill, which means nose-up, and it needs to finish left. Finish too early and you get caught up in the small trees on the left. Flip over, it may be clean to the basket, but the long grass between 15 and 16 could gobble up discs.
Also, keep in mind that this big throw is later in the round. Elm Creek is a bomber's course situated on a sledding hill and corresponding cross-country skiing trails designed almost exclusively for those who have 450 to 500 foot power. Anything less, and you are always playing for a 3 or more. The majority of the course is boring - open and long with tall grass defining most fairways. However, Hole 14 is iconic. 700+ legit par 4. I bring it up because you just got done playing it, 15 is one of the only putter throws on the course, and now on 16 you are throwing another big shot. Chances are that you are tiring from all the big throws. Hole 18 is monster uphill par 4, so, while sitting 16, you know you still have more big shots coming up. I can park this hole, but it usually takes my biggest driver giving it almost everything I have while also ensuring a clean release so I do not flip it over. Again, keep in mind that you are purposely throwing slightly nose-up to fight the elevation, so keep that in mind when selecting your disc. And, it is almost always windy at Elm Creek. |

Star Orc off the tee. Looks like a good bit of elevation.
