Not that I know of, but you should try it

I don't think it would work for the simple fact that I doubt ink jet printer ink will take on a disc, but what do I know...

I actually tried this (temporarily). The problem lies with the curvature of the disc (I tried it on a teebird). Trying to press the paper down to the disc caused smearing. I really didn't like the result, so I immediately acetoned it off so I could start over another time. It might be worth noting that wiping immediately (before anything had a chance to dry) left no trace that the ink had penetrated the plastic at all.

Can't say whether the ink would 'take' on the plastic if you let it sit and dry overnight, but it still might be worth trying again with a smaller image on the flattest part of a really flat disc?

Now, understand, I've never done any disc dying myself, but the colors were pretty accurate to the image. I had a yellow disc -not white- and had already 'previewed' them in my image software overlaid on that color. They looked only slightly less vibrant that what I had expected. But again: I just wanted to update that the biggest challenge is the smearing from the curvature. If I had a junky plain, white, flat disc in decent plastic, I might give it another go and report how/ if it sets up. But you'd be hearing from a dying noob here.

Gotcha. Would've been sweet to see a pic. I'm def gonna try this soon. You'd have to start a "Disc Inking" thread since you're a veteran inker now.

Find a Force or a Flick - those are the flattest discs I can think of.

I have tried to use old ink cartridges as a dye mix with i dont even remember what and didnt have much success. It seemed thicker and didn't want to dilute then just washed off.

A white neutron MVP disc is basically a piece of paper when it comes to dyes so I would try that before anything and they don't really have a domey disc.
