I think I tried a Virus in the 150s. It didn’t stick but I can’t remember why.

157 Plasma Insanity, though, is a magic disc. Serves as my neutral fairway, bracketed by a 162 Star TL (stable) and a 166 Pro Leo (beating into understable)

The production Prism Insanity is up at Infinite. Looks cool and great stamp, but if they're the same plastic on the rim and the flight plate, how exactly is it different from any other non-MVP/Axiom disc?

What i'm hoping for in the future is a Prism rim with electron cores...or some other kind of combo. High rim durability with excellent flight plate grip!

My guess is that the flight plate is still far less dense than the rim. Weighted in the over mold. The gyro is still real.

If you're asking about the feel, The over molding, even of the same material, will accomplish basically the same feeling as we are used to.

that doesn't work. has to be the same plastic type to bond together when molding up so no mixing of baseline and premium.

Well the LE run a while back was reported as being less stable... if the clear plastic is less dense than traditional black rims it will likely get a more mellow flight with added weight. Kind of like a traditional Insanity X vs a prism Insanity L.. To use Innova references.

I'm also curious how that production run will be flying.

On second look, like these are actually marked as prototypes.

[nerd insight]
This is mostly true but not technically 100% accurate. As long as the polymeric chains are compatible then it is all good. In practice, you can ensure a good bond my using the same materials. If you get nerdy enough, you can find dissimilar materials that will bond though.

In addition to the chemical bonding, if you also use mechanical bonding features (like the Innova Nova's rim features) then you can get away with more dissimilar materials. I strongly suspect this is why Innova employed these features.

I thought that technically all MVP brands overmold discs had a mechanical bond too.

Yes, you are correct.
MVP has an internal lip that creates a mechanical bond which resists radial forces. What I was getting at is that Innova adds details that resist axial forces as well.
