Default $700k disc golf course in Calgary

"David’s love for the game led to Wednesday’s launch of the $700,000 David Richardson Memorial Disc Golf Park."

"The 27 acres of rolling hills in northwest Calgary are set to become an 18-hole facility that is expected to be one of the best disc golf course in North America"

http://www.metronews.ca/news/calgary...golf-park.html

OMG, can't wait to see the finished product. Will be epic assuming the people involved are putting the money in the right places.

How do u send 700k on a DG course? I assume it has to have a proshop/clubhouse, multiple pin positions at every hole, and all the amenities you could think of. Unless there's a TON of landscaping/tree clearing to be done

Me too.

Calgary DG Club has it on their website, so one would assume that they are involved and know what they are doing.

Another story from back in July.

With that kind of budget it would make sense to bring in a DGCD Master Designer as a consultant.

Keep in mind these are Canadian dollars. Still, $500k is not pocket change. Interested to see what all gets done.

Well, since it's going to be "the best disc golf course in North America", the answer should be obvious.

27 acres is not a lot of land for "the best..."

Could that figure include purchase of the land?

Most probably entire budget for entire park... lots, bathrooms, other equipment, etc.

Strawn Park in Columbia, MO was done with $250k and included a Houck designed disc golf course, but the $$ were certainly used to build the whole complex.
