Default Need an obstacle on your course?

The new wall under development at Quarry Park Disc Golf course.

The area behind was OB which has now become an inbounds area (generally trying to remove as much unnatural OB from the course as possible) . To add a bit of challenge to shots that saw off early and to help bugs and insects thrive on the course Derek has built this first section of wall out of trees felled on the course. Looks excellent and a great way to use the felled timber for wildlife and course aesthetics.

Want to keep players playing the fairways you want? Why not build a wall!

There's also a Q for Quarry Park in there, see if you can spot it!

That's a true work of art.

I see a lot of O's, but no Q.

Here's a similar example of using a log pile hazard near the basket and posts to create "teeth" to potentially stop a few low shots and sliders on hole 15, Blueberry Hills. I've also seen log pile hazards at Tyler but none as nice at what's being done at Quarry. Great job!

This is just an outstanding way to improve course play and habitat, congrats!

Walls are an awesome way to add to a hole design. I'm partial to the ones at Tyler State Park in Pennsylvania.

We built one like this on course last summer to guard the green what will now be hole 9. Locks together exactly like lincoln logs, and we carved a Magic logo in the front. Great way to add both flair and challenge!
