it's funny to see various peoples' responses to traveling and playing Maine courses. some people can't wrap their heads around or forgive P2P and novice pars on every course. but i'm pretty sure the 800-900 rated locals absolutely love their courses.

Maine courses are good for the self esteem if you just go by the listed par.

I agree with what Bogey has noted several times on here, I personally would like to see reviews with an overwhelming number of unhelpful votes (or super low unhelpful percentage) not count in a course's dgcr ranking.

How would you stop people from down voting a truly helpful review to get the rating thrown out because they don't agree with the rating?

I'm near 100 percent that this 920 rated player is going to love Maine disc golf. The terrain there just looks like disc golf heaven to me. Sadly i've only been to Maine once, and it was before I started playing.

in a true sense, it wouldn't be possible to stop.

I guess I would hope that most of that negative voting abuse wouldn't occur or it would rarely happen. perhaps it's naïve of me to think that.

1.5 or 2 for a 4 disc course is fine - sometimes the 4 rating is only due to homer reviews or whatever.

But "I didn't like it" is pretty weak. Also, does grammar and spelling mean nothing to people anymore?!?

I noticed that both courses only had a few reviews before these two, all were higher then these two ratings. I'm not saying those were favorably inflated, just that we don't have enough reviews to make a good call that these two were bad reviews, except for the lack of detail in these reviews.

And yes, I cringe at bad grammar and spelling too. But, I did get called out recently for using the wrong "capital" in a post, so there is hope out there!!

I am 100% sure that you are right. I spent the summers of 2018 and 2109 in Ellsworth (May through September) and played everything that I could reasonably get to. Without a doubt it was the best collection of courses that I've seen in a specific region. 100% P2P is a big part of that, but as you say the terrain is tailor-made for DG.

3 of his 4 reviews are 2 or less on courses all right around 4. With not much to support is besides he didn't like it.

First off, I am thrilled to have a course in town after having to drive a minimum of two hours each way to play for the last 17 years. Having said that, 3.5 if I’m feeling generous.
