Why don't the pros throw 13 and 14 speed discs?

Correct me if I am wrong but the fastest discs most pros throw are 12 speed Destroyers and Destroyer clones. If pros rarely ever throw anything faster why do 13 and 14 speed discs even exist?

They don't have to; they can "get to where want to go" with a 'slower' speed (read: more control) disc. A good rule of thumb is "use the 'slowest' speed disc that will get you to your target".

Say you had 1000 ft disc golf hole played on a wide open ball golf course. If I could I would rather throw 600+ ft and have a 350 ft upshot than two 500 ft throws to the basket. The first option might save a stroke. You have to throw a disc faster to get it to fly longer so why not throw a faster speed disc in that scenario? Do Lizotte and McMahon not have the arm speed for them? If they don't why bother even making them?

The difference in real distance between a 12speed and a 14speed MIGHT be 20ft...maybe. And that's only IF they're used to / comfortable with the 14. The bigger the wing, the bigger the potential error. It may not be worth that extra distance.

I use the explorer as my main driver and like only pull out very flippy high speed drivers for 365+

Why does any disc exist? Because people will buy it. What a pro uses is pretty meaningless in that equation.
