Hey guys, thanks for everyone who is so active on here. I've played mildly for a few years but I just forehanded everything. This is my first year getting serious and I've been developing my backhand for about 5 months now. I primarily throw a buzzz and typical distance is around 250' though I peak closer to 300'.
I've noticed my front knee has been hurting a bit so I've been working on following through on my heel. Unfortunately, I was alone on the practice field so this video doesn't capture it all quite as well. I'll share more soon. Let me know what you see and possibly what drills you suggest! https://youtu.be/pvqC_WVjgVI Sponsored Links

Turning backwards too early and stance appears too staggering closed. See door frame drill part 3.

Thanks for the response! I’ll get a few better videos showing different angles and footwork. So my front foot is too closed?
I’ll work on the timing issue too. |

Yes, from behind tee your foot should plant more underneath CoG.

Based on advice here I’ve been going through the door frame drill part 3. I think I’m starting to understand it but I wanted to clarify on here. Basically, this is forcing me to do 2 things. First, don’t turn my hips back until my front foot is almost planted . Second, to keep my weight back as long as possible. Is this a correct understanding of my goals?

Hey guys, I've continued to work on my form, I've been doing the Door Frame Drill #3. I don't feel like I've improved tremendously but I've gone out to do field work nearly every day during my lunch break. Here's a new video. The lighting isn't great but I'm pretty unhappy with my foot work. I'm throwing a Judge around 210' in most of my drills.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMhK...annel=Mr.Lucky To clarify from my initial post, I started as a forehand player but have been developing the backhand this year. Last edited by timg; 11-19-2020 at 08:55 AM. |
